A while back, I wrote about the issue of secession and how it was never resolved by the Civil War. Crudely put, the North beat the tar out of the South and the South said, “Uncle.” Nothing was resolved.
Now we have several secession movements actively petitioning the federal government for a peaceful parting of the ways. I don’t suspect anything will come of these movements, other than some snarky comments by MSNBC and late night comedians. Of course, I frequently make wrong predictions, so maybe this is one of those times.
